Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday
FRIDAY, JULY 28
SOUTH SHORE SCHOOL: 6:00-8:00
We are looking for “chili cookers” to compete in this years challenge. Our theme is “Canada’s 150th Birthday” so put your thinking cap on and come up with a chili recipe that shows the pride we have for our country. It’s easy, it’s fun and it supports many organizations and events in our community such as:
- South Shore Ball Association
- Stinger Volleyball
- Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre
- Regina Beach Library
- South Shore School
- South Shore Winter Carnival
- Senior Bus Trip
- Castles and Dreams Preschool
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS: Cook up a batch of your favorite Chili to serve 25-30 people keeping in mind that 100 people will taste and provide a server on Friday, July 28. It is also important that you decorate your table and area with a Canadian flair. Marks this year will be as follows:
- 10 points for taste of chili
- 5 points for appearance of chili
- 5 points for presentation including site decorations
Buena Vista Parks & Rec will provide: tables, plug-ins, bowls, cutlery, buns, beverages and watermelon. (beer will be sold)
There are two categories: a Judges Award selected by celebrity judges and a Peoples Choice Award based on votes by patrons. Prize money of $100.00 will be awarded to winner in each category
Please have your Chili at the School ready to serve the judges at 5:30. Judging is based on Taste, Appearance and Presentation.
Please let your contact know if you are able to participate or call Donna Hall – 729-4220 or Carol Draper – 729-2528 by July 24
Thank you, BV Parks and Recreation
